But with my need to go beyond 4.2ghz with low temps made me look to see if theres any air, aio cpu cooler that is noticeable better, for no more than 50% more than what a NH-D15 costs. According to this thread there isn't, all we get is more noise, not even a Swiftech H220-X or the big brother the H240-X is not noticeable better than a Notcua

Any reason why the Noctua wouldn't be a good choice? NH-D15 can cool a 7950 easily, I'm using the NH-D15S currently, with fans going no higher than 900RPM at load. I'm having what appear to be thermal issues with a Ryzen 5 5600X paired with a Noctua NH-D15 cooler. At idle, AIDA 64 reports an average of 50°C. Stress testing brings my temps to 80°C, which is almost 15°C higher than what most people I've seen online report of their pairings. I've also noticed that with each AIDA stress.
With a third, nearly identical Noctua fan installed on the inside of the case, the photos I have seen show maybe three inches of distance between the outside of the case fan and the outside of the exhaust fan on the cooler.
